Description
1875 Seated Dime, Colorful PR67
1875 10C PR67 NGC. The year 1875 is famous in American numismatics for the tiny gold mintages, but the 1875 Philadelphia Seated dimes of the year saw a mintage exceeding 10.3 million circulation strikes plus 700 proofs, most of which are in lower grades than the present Superb Gem. The deep toning under a light resolves into lovely rose and gold patina, interspersed with silver-white areas, all of which is enlivened by the deeply mirrored fields. There are no mentionable distractions, although a hint of strike softness occurs on Liberty's face. Census: 3 in 67 (1 in 67 ★ ), 1 finer (10/13).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23CY, PCGS# 4772, Greysheet# 4268)
