Description

1879 Dime, Magnificent PR67 Cameo
Low-Mintage Issue

1879 10C PR67 Cameo NGC. For those assembling a date set of Seated dimes, the 1879 business strike is a stopper with a mintage of only 14,000 pieces. A proof is a more affordable alternative, but the mintage was hardly generous in that format either with only 700 coins struck. The fields on this example are deeply reflective and set up a "black" background against the frosted devices. Both sides are nearly brilliant with just a hint of peripheral rose color. Census: 11 in 67 Cameo, 0 finer (4/11).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23D4, PCGS# 84776, Greysheet# 4281)

Weight: 2.49 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
