Description

1883 Seated Dime, PR68
Magnificently Toned

1883 10C PR68 PCGS Secure. Fortin-103, R.3. Two varieties are known for the proof 1883 dime. Fortin-103 shows a level date positioned further right and a partial first S in STATES. This amazing specimen, from a mintage of 1,039 proofs, features pristine surfaces and a razor-sharp strike. Brilliant centers turn to apricot-orange, violet, and cobalt-blue at the borders on each side. The fields lack just enough reflectivity to prevent a Cameo designation. Nevertheless, the field-device contrast is bold. Population: 4 in 68, 0 finer (7/14).
