Description

1885 10C F-101, R.3, PR65 NGC. CAC. The 1885 mintage of 930 proofs started a quick decline in the number of proof Seated dimes struck until series end in 1891. This richly toned example displays vibrant shades of blue, sea-green, and amber-gold, with glassy-mirrored fields and similarly toned, frosted devices. A sharp strike diminishes at the wreath top, although all other motifs are crisply rendered. Scarce with CAC endorsement. Census: 45 in 65 (1 in 65+), 37 finer. CAC: 8 in 65, 24 finer (1/19).
