Description

1885 10C F-101, R.3, PR66 PCGS. Slight repunching on the 1 in the date, combined with die scratches at the top of the wreath, identify Fortin-101. The dies struck both proof and commercial pieces, but the mirrored fields and squared rims of the present example confirm proof status. The obverse is predominantly aquamarine with gold peripheral highlights. The reverse has a lavender-gold center and an electric-blue periphery. Population: 29 in 66 (3 in 66+), 12 finer (8/16).
