Description

1888 10C Dime PR65 Cameo NGC. CAC. Among dimes, only a few years beginning in 1879 show low mintages as seen in the quarter and half dollar series. In 1888 there were 5.4 million business strike dimes produced, but only 832 proofs were struck. This is a deeply reflective, full Cameo coin that shows strong field-device contrast on each side. The centers remain brilliant but are surrounded by rings of deep golden-brown and cobalt-blue. Census: 7 in 65 Cameo, 19 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N1793)
