1889 10C PR67 PCGS. CAC. F-101, R.4. Two minor variants exist of the 1889 dime. This one shows a downward sloping date with a nearly closed 9 (at least more so than F-102). Only 711 proofs were struck and this is clearly one of the finest examples available, as well as one of the finest known. The fields are bright and mirrored with significant frosted contrast evident on each side. The obverse is lightly and evenly toned, while the reverse is mostly brilliant with a light accent of peripheral golden toning present. Exceptional quality and value. Population: 8 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer. CAC: 2 in 67, 0 finer (9/18).(Registry values: N2998)
