Beautiful Grape and Electric-Blue Highlights
1857 $1 PR63 NGC. OC-P1, R.5. Russet surfaces contain
peripheral grape and electric-blue highlights on the obverse. A few
toning spots between star 3 and star 4 are useful for pedigree
identification. A single Proof die marriage joins the year's two
circulation strike die marriages. The obverse die was also used on
the OC-1 circulation strike die marriage, an unusual occurrence in
the series, and the reverse die is the familiar Reverse 1856
PA.(Registry values: N4719)From The Brittany Legacy Collection, Part III.
