Attractively Toned 1859 Gem Proof Dollar
1859 $1 PR65 NGC. Champagne-gold patina in the central areas is framed by electric-blue and lavender and a powerful strike imparts sharp delineation to the design elements. A few minute handling marks are in concert with the numerical grade. Probably fewer than 450 of the 800 reportedly minted were distributed, the rest likely melted.
