    Description

    Select Proof 1860 Seated Dollar

1860 $1 PR63 PCGS. A generous mintage of 1,330 proof Seated Liberty dollars was accomplished in 1860, but only 557 pieces were actually sold. The remaining examples were melted after the close of the year, making the issue much more elusive than the mintage would indicate. The present coin is sharply detailed, with reflective fields showing under gray, blue, and gold patina. Population: 38 in 63, 46 finer (2/11).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 252E, PCGS# 7003)
