Description
1862 Seated Liberty Dollar, PR64 Cameo
Conditionally Rare Contrasted Piece
1862 $1 PR64 Cameo CACG. OC-P2, High R.3. Osburn-Cushing Die
State: a/c, as the tips of the middle and upper leaves of the olive
branch are broken. Overall, the issue of 550 Seated proof dollars
struck in 1862 has survived well. Non-Cameo pieces can be found
with determination, but Cameo proofs are conditionally rare. This
Choice Cameo 1862 has brilliant surfaces save for pale-gold hues on
the rims and right of Star 1. The mirrored surfaces provide stark
contrast against the softly frosted devices. Light hairlines define
the grade.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252G, PCGS# 87005, Greysheet# 7311)
