Description

1862 Seated Liberty Dollar, PR64 Cameo
Conditionally Rare Contrasted Proof

1862 $1 PR64 Cameo CACG. OC-P2, JD-2, High R.3. Osburn-Cushing Die State: a/c, as the tips of the middle and upper leaves of the olive branch are deformed. Overall, the 1862 550-piece Seated proof dollars have survived well. Non-Cameo pieces can be found with determination but Cameo proofs are conditionally rare. This Choice Cameo 1862 displays brilliant surfaces save for pale-gold hues on the rims and to the right of Star 1. The mirrored surfaces provide stark contrast against the frost-white devices. The strike is needle-sharp throughout both sides. A few light hairlines define the assigned grade.
