1863 $1 PR63 Cameo PCGS. CAC. At the height of the Civil War, the Philadelphia Mint persisted in making proof coins for the small elite of coin collectors at the time. Though this example shows light hairlines in its reflective fields, it offers excellent field-device contrast under a layer of light golden toning that eases toward rose-violet near the rims.
