Description
Lightly Toned PR63 Cameo
1863 Seated Dollar
1863 $1 PR63 Cameo PCGS. CAC. At the height of the Civil
War, the Philadelphia Mint persisted in making proof coins for the
small elite of coin collectors at the time. Though this example
shows light hairlines in its reflective fields, it offers excellent
field-device contrast under a layer of light golden toning that
eases toward rose-violet near the rims. Population: 14 in 63 (2 in
63+) Cameo, 15 finer (1/13).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252H, PCGS# 87006, Greysheet# 7314)
Weight: 26.73 grams
