Description

1863 Seated Dollar, PR64 Cameo
Nadir of Civil War-Induced Low Mintages

1863 $1 PR64 Cameo NGC. OC-P2, Low R.4. Fiery citrus toning dominates this lovely Cameo proof, with hints of lilac and medium-blue present as well. Razor-like definition defines the devices. Another mintage drop accompanies this issue, falling from 550 in 1862 to 460 in 1863, representing the nadir of Civil War-induced production decline. However, the Cameo population rises to one-fifth of NGC's certifications, though this is still of course a distinct minority. Census: 14 in 64 Cameo (1 in 64+ ), 10 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N4719)
