1863 Seated Dollar, PR64 Deep Cameo
Beautifully Toned and Contrasted
Only Three Deep Cameos Certified
1863 $1 PR64 Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. OC-P1, High R.4. Only
three Deep Cameo examples of the 1863 proof Seated dollar are
reported, all are graded PR64 at PCGS, and only one -- the present
coin -- is endorsed by CAC (1/18). We have never before offered a
Deep Cameo example of this issue, and this is the first Deep Cameo
known to have appeared at auction since a couple of the others were
sold in 2004 and 2005 American Numismatic Rarities auctions. This
coin displays full detail and dramatic field-device contrast. Blue
and violet cling to the extreme outer peripheries, while the
interiors showcase warm orange-gold coloration. The depth of
mirroring is outstanding, and eye appeal is superb.From The Property of a Lady.
