Wonderful Russet Toning
1864 $1 PR61 NGC. OC-P1, R.4. Russet toning skates across
silver surfaces in a wonderful streak-like pattern. All design
elements contain absolute detail. Four proof die marriages are
known for the year, compared to just one circulation strike die
variety, made from a combination of three obverses and two
reverses. The present OC-P1 is the most available of the group,
with around 150 examples known, according to
