Description

Desirable 1864 Seated Dollar, PR63

1864 $1 PR63 PCGS. A Seated dollar from the Civil War era that surprisingly is more available as a proof than as an Uncirculated business strike, even though only 470 proofs were minted in 1864. This example has a strong strike with just a touch of softness in the impression of Liberty. Gold and lavender toning dusts the obverse, with some ice-blue showing along the device edges. The reverse displays emerald and dusty gray toning, with highlights of turquoise around the eagle and the legends. (Registry values: N2998)
