1866 $1 Motto PR63 Cameo PCGS. Proofs of this date are in
demand, because they represent the first year with IN GOD WE TRUST
on the reverse (David Bowers, 1993). PCGS and NGC have seen a few
hundred coins, out of an original mintage of 725 pieces. Pronounced
Cameo contrast is visible on this untoned, Select example, and a
well executed strike leaves bold definition on the design elements.
The occasional stray hairline mingles with die polish lines in the
