    Compelling Contrast and Eye Appeal

    1867 $1 PR64+ Cameo PCGS. CAC. OC-P1, Low R.3. Proof Seated dollar production amounted to 625 pieces in 1867, joining a relatively small total of 46,800 circulation strikes. About 425 proofs survive, according to Dick Osburn and Brian Cushing. This Plus-designated near-Gem is beautifully preserved with black-and-white surfaces. Cameo contrast is pronounced. A thin blush of natural, dusky gold patina graces the the obverse. Population: 26 in 64 (3 in 64+) Cameo, 6 finer in this category. CAC: 9 in 64, 5 finer (12/19).(Registry values: N2998)
