Description
1868 Seated Dollar, PR63 Deep Cameo
1868 $1 PR63 Deep Cameo PCGS. No more than a trace of patina appears on surfaces that are basically untoned silver-white but optimally contrasted, showing deep reflectivity in the fields against thick mint frost. A few minor hairlines show in the fields and diagonal die striations remain on the device high points, but mentionable contact is difficult to find. Only 600 proofs were struck of this issue, and this piece may pose an attractive entry point for some forthright bidder. Population: 4 in 63 Deep Cameo, 6 finer (3/15).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 252P, PCGS# 97016, Greysheet# 7333)
