    Description

1869 $1 -- Questionable Color -- PCGS Genuine. Proof, Unc Details. OC-P2, R.4. Deep cherry-red and violet toning occupies the obverse, while the reverse has a golden-brown field and a blue-green border. The extravagant colors have been declared suspect by PCGS, but the underlying surfaces are unblemished. The strike is good, though slightly incomplete on the eagle.
