Dramatic Field-Device Contrast
1870 $1 PR63 Deep Cameo PCGS. OC-P1, Low R.3. This is the
usual proof die pair with die doubling on IN and the W in WE. OC-P1
represents about 450 of the estimated 600 proof survivors for the
1870 proof Seated dollar. Near-total brilliance heightens Deep
Cameo contrast between the thickly frosted motifs and the glassy,
mirrored fields. A few blushes of golden color appear at the upper
reverse. Hairlines and evidence of contact are trivial. Population:
