1871 Seated Dollar, PR63 Cameo
Starkly Contrasted
1871 $1 PR63 Cameo NGC. CAC. Both sides are untoned and
display strong contrast between the fields and well-defined
devices. The contrast on the reverse is especially dramatic and the
overall appeal is significantly greater than on other PR63
examples. A bit of haze is noted near the eagle's head on the
reverse and a small patch of hairlines can be seen to the right of
the date on the obverse. Census: 14 in 63 Cameo, 12 finer
(10/18).Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2008), lot 1879, where it realized $4,312.50.
