Description
1872 Seated Dollar, PR63
Virtually Brilliant, Flashy
1872 $1 PR63 PCGS. OC-P1, R.2. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a.
A Top 30 Variety. Die doubling exists on the reverse, easily
visible at the legends and throughout IN GOD WE TRUST. A single die
pair was used to strike 950 proof Seated dollars in 1872. This is a
nearly brilliant example with a hint of reddish-gold toning at the
rims and considerable contrast between the lightly frosted devices
and smooth, mirrorlike fields. Faint hairlines exist when viewed
under a loupe, yet this is an undeniably sharp and attractive
Select proof coin with strong eye appeal for the assigned
