Description
1873 Seated Dollar PR62 NGC. The last date of the series, all proof 1873 Seated Liberty dollars are of the Closed 3 variety. The tiny proof mintage of 600 pieces was reduced when an unknown number of examples was included in the total of 2,258 silver dollars melted on July 10, 1873. The present coin is lightly toned in shades of olive, gray, and lavender, with most of the color on the obverse. The design elements are well detailed.
