    Description

Important 1837 Seated Liberty Half Dime, PR62

1837 H10C No Stars PR62 NGC. A lovely early Seated Liberty proof that has deep grape-rose patina over the moderately reflective surfaces. The obverse and reverse fields have light to moderate hairlines, though these have less impact on the overall eye appeal than the grade might suggest. Walter Breen cited a mintage of 20 pieces, possibly more, in his Encyclopedia of United States and Colonial Proof Coins 1722-1977. Certified in a prior generation holder. Census: 2 in 62, 8 finer (10/06).
    From The Stone 1837 Collection.(Registry values: P4)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2355, PCGS# 4407)
