Description

1859 H10C PR62 NGC. Walter Breen (1989) mentions two Valentine varieties for the 1859 half dime. This PR62 example is V-2, attributed by a rust spot on the left upright of the U in UNITED. This is the variety most often seen in proof. Low intensity multicolored toning bathes both sides of this well-struck half dime.(Registry values: P4)
