Description
1863 H10C PR66 Cameo NGC. The 1863 is always in demand among Seated half dime date collectors, a fact that should come as no surprise given the paltry proof mintage of 460 pieces and the key-date status of the business strike, produced to the extent of only 18,000 coins. This bright, nearly untoned Cameo-designated specimen offers pleasing contrast between the fields and devices, which are sharply detailed throughout. Both sides are free of even a single bothersome distraction. NGC and PCGS combined have seen only 13 coins at the PR66 Cameo level, with only six finer examples (4/18).Ex: New York Signature (Heritage, 7/2002), lot 6599; ANA National Money Show Signature (Heritage, 3/2003), lot 5505; ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2007), lot 495.
