Beautiful 1854 Arrows Half, PR65
1854 50C PR65 PCGS. The middle-19th century Arrows silver proofs are elusive and highly desirable, representing a brief two-year design type only struck in 1854 and 1855 (1853-1855 in the case of half dimes and dimes). In the case of the half dollars, PCGS has only certified two examples as PR65 (the other is an 1855/4 overdate), with none finer. This Gem proof 1854 half is beautifully and deeply toned in lilac, russet, and bluish-green, with fully mirrored fields and underlying cameo contrast. Population: 1 in 65, 0 finer (3/09).From The Joseph C. Thomas Collection.
