Description
1860 Half Dollar, PR66 Cameo
Vivid Peripheral Toning
1860 50C PR66 Cameo PCGS. The proof 1860 half dollar, struck
to the extent of 1,000 pieces, is a well-made issue, but few
examples were produced with distinct field-device contrast. Cameo
survivors are rare in any grade, but are most sought-after in Gem
and finer condition. This Premium Gem Cameo is starkly contrast,
with full mirrors and sharp, frosty design elements. Vivid
ocean-blue and violet hues surround much of each periphery, and the
central regions display just a hint of light golden color. There
are no contact marks or distracting hairlines observed. Population:
5 in 66 (1 in 66+) Cameo, 3 finer (9/15).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27TK, PCGS# 86414, GSID# 6444)
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
