Colorful 1862 Half Dollar, PR64

1862 50C PR64 NGC. The 1862 half in proof can be obtained with minimal difficulty through the near-Gem level of preservation. Gems are scarce and higher-grade pieces are elusive. Rich bluish-violet, golden-orange, and yellow-green patination bathes both sides, each of which is sharply struck and nicely preserved. Census: 58 in 64, 34 finer (9/09).
