    1867 Half Dollar, Toned PR64
    Gold CAC Sticker

    1867 50C PR64 NGC. Gold CAC. A sharp proof strike on beautifully toned rose-gold surfaces tipped in blue, this Select proof is stickered with a gold CAC label, indicating that service would consider it a Gem (the next higher numeric grade). Only 625 proofs were struck of this issue. This example shows a tack-sharp strike throughout and no mentionable distractions visible on either side. This early proof Seated half is certified in an early NGC "no line fatty" holder showing the typical damage to the fragile hologram on the reverse. Census: 44 in 64 (1 in 64+), 35 finer. Gold CAC: 5 in 64, 7 finer (8/16).
