Description
Gem Proof 1868 Seated Liberty Half Dollar
Fully Struck Specimen
1868 50C PR65 NGC. WB-101. The 1868 proof half dollar is a
better date , with a mintage of only 600 pieces. At the Gem proof
level the issue is decidedly rare. Recent population data shows NGC
has certified 23 examples in PR65, with seven finer; while PCGS has
graded only five specimens at this level, with a single coin finer
(6/10). The present coin exhibits full striking details and
brilliant mirrored fields. Overall visual appeal is exceptional.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27U3, PCGS# 6426, GSID# 6470)
