Description

1874 Half Dollar, PR66
Reflective Fields

1874 50C Arrows PR66 PCGS. WB-101. The arrows were added to the Seated design the year prior due to a modified standard weight. The Philadelphia Mint then produced an average Liberty Seated proof mintage of 700 pieces in 1874. Proofs minted for the year were all struck with the Small Arrows obverse die, while the majority of business-strikes are found with Large Arrows.
This example displays gorgeous soft pinks, deep sapphires, and indigo tones that have enveloped all of the original luster of the coin. This impeccably well-struck piece's alluring fields are deeply reflective and in remarkable contrast to the frosted devices. There are no major abrasions or marks that would diminish the appeal of this coin. This is the finest example we have offered since 2021. PCGS Population: 8 in 66 (2 in 66+), 5 finer (3/26).
