Gem Cameo Proof 1876 Seated Half
A Popular Centennial Issue
1876 50C PR65 Cameo NGC. Type One Reverse. The largish issue
of 1,150 minor silver proof sets was undoubtedly due to the
nation's Centennial celebration, and 1876-dated coins are popular
today with collectors for the same reason. This Seated half proof
displays much silver-on-black field-device contrast, although a few
faint, thin marks on Liberty apparently preclude an even finer
grade. Tinges of amber-gold and aqua add to the appeal. Census: 8
in 65 Cameo, 6 finer (6/10).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27UA, PCGS# 86437, GSID# 6501)
