Description
1877 Seated Half Dollar, PR66+
Rare High-End Example
1877 50C PR66+ NGC. The 1877 proof Seated half dollar is
much scarcer in high grade than many later proof issues in the
series. Gem or better pieces -- Cameos and non-Cameos alike -- are
condition rarities, and only a handful of pieces are reported at
the Premium Gem level. This Plus-graded PR66 coin displays deep
mirroring and sharp, satiny devices. A tinge of amber and
blue-green toning frames the left margins. Census: 6 in 66 (1 in
66+), 0 finer (8/23).
