Multicolored Gem Proof 1878 Half
1878 50C PR65 PCGS. Type Two Reverse (complete berry below branch). A few Split Berry proofs have been found, which would make such coins a cherrypicker's dream. The surfaces of this piece possess lovely rose and blue toning with lighter centers and brightly reflective mirrors in the fields. A series of tiny planchet voids beneath the eagle's head are the only surface flaws that are mentionable.
