Description
Vibrant Gem Proof 1879 Half
1879 50C PR65 PCGS. Type One Reverse. This year marks the first in a series of low-mintage issues in the Seated half dollar series. The present proof survivor displays smoky rose-gray and cobalt-blue toning that yields to lighter frosty coloration over the central devices. The drapery below Liberty's elbow is partially effaced by die polish. Both sides are, however, equally mark-free, with pinpoint striking definition. A coin for the collector who values originality.
