Description

Exceptional PR66 1881 Half Dollar

1881 50C PR66 NGC. A popular, low total-mintage date with only 10,000 business strikes produced plus another 975 proofs. This is a lovely, multicolored example that is deeply mirrored. The obverse retains a significant amount of brilliance with golden and blue toning on the left side. The reverse, on the other hand, has bright blue, aquamarine, and crimson iridescence, made even more vibrant by the mirrored flash in the fields. Astonishing eye appeal. Census: 24 in 66, 5 finer (4/09).
