Description

Attractively Toned 1884 Half Dollar, PR66

1884 50C PR66 PCGS. This coin was previously offered as lot 6877 in our September 2002 Long Beach Signature Sale, where it was cataloged as: "This is an interesting example from the standpoint of toning. The majority of the surface area displays silver-gray color, but there are irregular splashes of orange-gold, lilac-gray, and cobalt-blue iridescence scattered about. Shining powerfully through this toning one can discern reflective fields, and the smooth, fully brought up devices are no less evident. A lone spot at 5 o'clock on the obverse periphery is noted for accuracy." Population: 8 in 66, 3 finer (8/08).
