Choice Cameo Proof 1886 Half
1886 50C PR64 Cameo NGC. Ex: W.J. Skiles Collection. Stone-white at first glance, although a faint band of apricot toning adorns UNITED STATES. Razor-sharp aside from trivial merging of detail on the eagle's ankle. A mere 886 proofs were struck, in addition to only 5,000 commercial pieces. Census: 8 in 64 Cameo, 10 finer (8/07).Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/05), lot 7418, which realized $1,955.
