Description

    1862 Quarter, PR67 Cameo
    Just One Proof Finer

1862 25C PR67 Cameo NGC. Briggs 5-E. More than 20% of the 550 proof quarters struck in 1862 were reportedly melted. Survivors are scarce in all grades, and Cameo representatives are rare with 20 submissions at NGC and 22 grading events at PCGS. This Superb Gem Cameo proof ranks among the finest examples available. Only the Newman PR68 Cameo coin is finer. Deeply reflective fields, frost-white motifs, and virtually unsurpassed preservation typify this important offering. Census: 7 in 67 Cameo (2 in 67 Cameo), 1 finer (11/15).
