Description
Delicately Toned 1864 Near-Gem Proof Quarter
1864 25C PR64 NGC. Deeply mirrored fields accentuate the satiny design elements of this near-Gem Civil War era proof. Whispers of delicate sky-blue, golden-tan, and lavender toning gravitate to the borders, and assume slightly greater intensity on the reverse, while an impressive strike imparts excellent delineation on the motifs. A pin-point spot is noted between Liberty's shoulder and the pole. Census: 47 in 64, 26 finer (10/07).(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23WS, PCGS# 5560, GSID# 5300)
