1864 Seated Liberty Quarter, PR65
Nicely Mirrored Fields and Attractive Toning
1864 25C PR65 NGC. The 1864 Seated Liberty quarter boasts a
low proof mintage of only 470 pieces. The date is quite challenging
in PR65, as NGC has certified only 12 examples at that level, with
13 finer; while PCGS has graded 11 specimens in PR65, with four
finer (12/09). The present coin features pronounced toning on each
side in shades of deep blue and gold. The deeply mirrored fields
shine forcefully through the toning. A couple of tiny lint marks
are the only detectable flaws.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23WS, PCGS# 5560, GSID# 5300)
