    Description

    1868 Quarter Dollar, PR66
    Undesignated Cameo Proof

1868 25C PR66 PCGS. CAC. A review of PCGS grading data indicates the rarity of high-grade proof 1868 quarter dollars. That service has certified three examples in PR66 and one in PR66 Cameo. In addition, a single PR65 Deep Cameo is the only piece with that designation.
An example of unparalleled beauty, this Premium Gem combines delicate gold toning over light silver surfaces at the center, with peripheral blue, violet, and iridescent patina. Both sides are fully mirrored around lustrous devices, an obvious but undesignated Cameo proof. Population: 3 in 66, 0 finer (11/12).(Registry values: P2)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 23WZ, PCGS# 5567)

Thanks to Heritage I realized a handsome profit for my coin submissions and intend to send most of the remainder of my collection to Heritage Auction Galleries for future auctions.
