    1869 Quarter, PR67
    Die-Doubled Obverse, Moderate Contrast

1869 25C PR67 NGC. A boldly struck and gorgeously preserved Superb Gem of this low-mintage issue, one of 600 proofs produced in addition to 16,000 commercial strikes. The obverse is die-doubled, a feature most visible on the right shield border and the lowest horizontal shield stripe. The obverse is fully brilliant and the reverse has faint cream-gray and apricot color. Although not given a Cameo designation by NGC, the devices and legends display moderate silver-on-black contrast, and the seated Liberty is particularly frosty.
