1872 Quarter, PR66, One of the Finest Certified
1872 25C PR66 NGC. Much of the business strike mintage of 182,000 pieces was undoubtedly melted in 1873, placing greater date pressure on the 950 proofs. This is a splendid, upper-end specimen, one of the finest known. The fields are brightly reflective and each side has a near-brilliant center that is surrounded by golden-brown and cobalt-blue toning at the rims.
