1880 25C PR68 PCGS. Briggs 2-B. Ex: Simpson. Type One
Reverse. This reverse type is identified by the wide feet on TAT in
STATES, and the die pair features a scratch through the left shield
border. A rather large production of 1,355 proof Seated Liberty
quarters was accomplished in 1880. Both the obverse and reverse of
this Superb Gem proof have taken on gorgeous multicolored toning in
predominately concentric shades of turquoise and golden-orange. The
glittering underlying surfaces appear to be tantalizingly close to
perfection. A squiggly lint mark occurs below the M in AMERICA.
