    Description

Stunning 1881 Premium Gem Cameo Quarter

1881 25C PR66 Cameo PCGS. Approximately 470 1881 proofs (out of a mintage of 975 pieces) have been certified by PCGS and NGC combined; fewer than 70 proofs carry the Cameo designation. Stunning contrast arises between crisply impressed, well frosted design elements and mirrored fields. A thin veneer of reddish-tan patina is slightly deeper on the obverse. What appears to be a nearly invisible vertical planchet striation was struck into the right obverse field, and a lint mark appears on Liberty's left (right facing) knee, and a couple of others are noted near the arm and knee. Population: 11 in 66, 6 finer (5/06).(Registry values: P1) (NGC ID# CFBL, PCGS# 85582)

    Weight: 6.25 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
