Description

Superb Bright 1881 Quarter, Proof 67 Cameo PCGS

1881 25C PR67 Cameo PCGS. There are a pair of short die scratches (as produced) from the top of Liberty's right (facing) knee into the drapery--a diagnostic feature of the proof die marriage of this issue. Both sides are completely untoned with smooth, expertly preserved surfaces. Boldly contrasted between the devices and the fields with crisp striking definition over the former. The 1881 is a popular, late date Seated Quarter with a limited original mintage of just 12,000 business strikes and 975 proofs. (#85582) (Registry values: P1) (NGC ID# CFBL, PCGS# 85582)
